Solving the Cyprus problem by putting a velvet divorce on the negotiating table is inevitable, former TRNC President Derviş Eroğlu. Taking into the TRNC’s existence is inevitable, a “two separate states united under the EU’s roof” formula should be on the table now, he said.
In a written statement, Eroğlu also said that after all this time and the flexibility exhibited by the Turkish Cypriot side, no one has the right to keep the Turkish Cypriots in isolation.
