The water supply to Famagusta was cut off today to enable excavation work on the mains water pipe to be carried out, BRT reported.
The State Hydraulic Works will announce how long the work will take and when the supply will be reconnected.
Meanwhile, consumers are urged to ration the amount of water they use, as disruption to water supplies could last for some time.
