Worker Injured in Edremit Well Collapse

A man working in a well in Edremit was injured when soil collapsed on top of him yesterday afternoon, Kibris Postasi reports.

Bahtiyar Topal (30), who was working in a water well approximately 13 metres deep in the garden of a residence in Edremit, was injured when a pile of soil collapsed on him. 

According to information from the police press office, the incident occurred on July 27, 2024, around 2pm. While working in the well, Bahtiyar Topal (30) was caught in a landslide within the well, resulting in soil falling on him and causing injuries. 

He was transported to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia, where he is currently under observation in the Intensive Care Unit. 

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
