Guterres to Present Cyprus to UN Security Council

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will officially present the Cyprus report to the UN Security Council later today.

Following the briefing of Guterres, the UN Security Council will discuss the report on 30 October.

It’s expected that the UN leader will decide on what kind of a path will be followed on the Cyprus issue after the announcement of the report.

Meanwhile, President Mustafa Akıncı had stated that he would meet with Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades after the announcement of the report and expressed the desire that the meeting will be held soon.

Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades responded positively to Akıncı’s call for a meeting and said that they will be meeting in the second half of October.
