An expert report prepared by 9 Eylül University for the Isias case was released yesterday, Yeniduzen reported. According to the findings, all defendants were deemed responsible, with liability attributed to each. Hasan Esendağlı, President of the TRNC Bar Association, told TAK news agency that the report had been uploaded to the system for review. Esendağlı confirmed that, according to the report, all defendants were found at fault. He added that a detailed examination of the report would follow, and further statements would be made as necessary.

The most recent hearing on the Isias Hotel in Adıyaman, where a total of 72 people—including a group of 35 students and teachers from Famagusta TMK—lost their lives in the earthquakes on 6 February 2023, took place on 22 October. During this fourth hearing at Adıyaman’s 3rd High Criminal Court, an interim ruling ordered the submission of the expert report by 9 Eylül University to the court.

At the same hearing, it was decided that the detention of the defendants Ahmet Bozkurt, Mehmet Fatih Bozkurt, and Erdem Yıldız, who remain in custody, would be extended. The remaining eight defendants would continue their trial under judicial control without detention. The court also moved to obtain updates on the files of public officials for whom investigation authorisation had been granted.
