Former Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer and People’s Party Chairman Kudret Özersay both have expressed deep concerns about the current state of governance and its impact on society.
Soyer emphasised the detrimental effects of relying heavily on Ankara for solutions, warning that this dependence could lead to a society devoid of identity, willpower, and intelligence.
He highlighted the miscalculation of inflation by the Statistical Institute as a critical issue, arguing that the manipulation of inflation data for financial gain has caused significant harm to the public and the economy. Soyer stressed the need for common values and intellectual maturity to address the country’s problems and maintain hope for the future.
Similarly, in separate article published by Kibris Postasi, People’s Party Chairman Kudret Özersay criticised the UBP-DP-YDP government for actions that have eroded public trust in the state during a crucial period of advocating for a two-state solution.
He pointed to instances of theft, corruption, and partisanship, arguing that these behaviours demonstrate a lack of genuine commitment to nationalism and the national cause.
Özersay underscored the damage caused by bribery and fake diploma scandals involving high-level officials, which have further shaken the public’s faith in the state.
Both politicians called for greater integrity and accountability in governance, highlighting the need for the society to reclaim its identity and character to overcome current challenges and build a hopeful future.
